Alland & Robert has announced that it will form an India-based joint-venture with Indian ingredients company Sayaji Industries.
The joint venture will manufacture and distribute spray dried acacia gum to the growing Indian market, and will leverage Alland & Robert’s acacia gum expertise and Sayaji’s position in the Indian ingredients market to operate effectively.
Both companies have now signed a memorandum of understanding, and a statement from Alland & Robert claims that the two companies will sign a definitive agreement at the beginning of 2019.
Sayaji Industries operates one of India’s largest corn wet milling businesses, and Alland & Robert described the company as a “natural partner”.
Anne-Sophie Alland, head of strategy and development at Alland & Robert said: “The Indian acacia gum market is complex, aiming at both the industry and final consumers.
“This joint venture is a great opportunity for Alland & Robert to dive into the Indian market with a local partner.
“Sayaji Industries Limited is also a family-owned company with the same values of hard work and business agility as Alland & Robert; thus they are a natural partner for us.”
