US brand Cafe Agave has launched a line of spiked cold brew coffees which are blended with cream and fermented agave.
Called Cafe Agave Spiked Cold Brew, the 12.5% ABV line is available in four flavours: espresso shot, caffe mocha, salted caramel and vanilla cinnamon.
Each single-serve can is equivalent to a half cup of brewed coffee. The drinks are packaged in 6.3oz cans, available as singles or packs of four.
Cafe Agave founder Mark Scialdone said: “People are drinking better and looking for quality – whether it’s alcohol or coffee. In coffee, they are choosing gourmet blends and new brewing techniques. Cold brewing is at the top of this coffee revolution.
“The coffee is brewed for 12 hours or more, delivering a smoother, less bitter experience than traditional brewing methods and its mass-market appeal is growing exponentially as people continue to discover it. We saw the opportunity to create a new category of beverages that combined two of peoples’ favourite things – gourmet cold brewed coffee and alcohol.”
Ami-Lynn Bakshi, co-founder of Cafe Agave and former Diageo innovation executive, added: “Cafe Agave Spiked Cold Brew meets the demand for a product that didn’t exist. It’s about a lifestyle. We are all constantly on the go, non-stop, 24/7.
“We talked a lot about how we always start the night out with a cup of coffee. But a high-quality, great-tasting, coffee plus alcohol offering that’s ready to go – anywhere, anytime? It’s a game changer. And so, Cafe Agave Spiked Cold Brew was born.
“From pool parties to rooftop lounges, concert venues to music festivals, casinos to hotel minibars, the convenience of our super-premium real coffee cocktails will give entertainment seekers more variety over the usual beer and wine choices.”
The range will initially be launched in the US states of Nevada, Arizona, California, Washington and Oregon.
