Food ingredients supplier Denali Ingredients is boosting its manufacturing capabilities with a new US facility focused on baked inclusions.
Located in New Berlin, Wisconsin, the 90,000-square-foot plant will produce baked inclusions such as brownie and cheesecake pieces used in ice cream and sweet treats.
The expansion is also expected to improve the company’s current production of extruded doughs, bits, flakes and bark products.
“Adding a new capability – baked inclusions – expands our portfolio of products for our customers,” said Neal Glaeser, president of Denali Ingredients.
“This is part of fulfilling our long-term vision, which is to become the go-to ingredients supplier. This expansion of our portfolio, along with our emphasis on hands-on customer collaboration, provides our R&D team a broader platform to effectively address trends in today’s complex food environment.”
Denali said the new plant design includes a focus on food quality and safety, with “modern sanitation equipment and processes, isolated production spaces and a quality control lab outfitted with updated testing equipment”.
Wisconsin-based Denali Ingredients also produces a range of variegating sauces, such as caramels, fudges and fruits, as well as stabiliser, texture and sweetener systems.
Last year, the firm introduced several extruded cookie dough products in a range of shapes and sizes as it looks to capitalise on US consumer demand for products featuring cookie dough.
