Budweiser and Jim Beam have joined forces to create Budweiser Reserve Black Lager, a limited-edition beer with an ABV of 7.1%.
The specialty beer marks the second collaboration between Budweiser and Jim Beam, joining Budweiser Reserve Copper Lager, which was introduced last year and is now being relaunched.
Budweiser Reserve Black Lager is aged on six-year Jim Beam bourbon barrel staves and is said to have an oaky aroma with coffee and chocolate notes, a toasted malt taste and a smooth finish.
Ricardo Marques, VP of marketing core and value brands at Anheuser-Busch, said: “Budweiser Reserve Copper Lager proved that when Budweiser and Jim Beam collaborate, good things happen.
The new beer joins Budweiser Reserve Copper Lager as part of the Reserve Series.
“For the second collaboration between Bud and Beam, we wanted to brew something unique that would excite both beer lovers and bourbon aficionados. Budweiser Reserve Black Lager is a bold, bourbon-forward beer that’s perfect for the holidays.”
The brew will go on sale in the US from October to December. Budweiser Reserve Copper Lager is now available until March 2020.
Both brews will be sold in stubby glass bottles. Black Lager will also be packaged in a premium 22oz bomber bottle gift box.
