US brand Caulipower have launched new frozen chicken tenders coated in cauliflower, to offer consumers a healthier choice within the breaded chicken market.
Made with high-quality breast meat, the tenders are breaded with cauliflower, rice flour and brown rice flour which results in a gluten-free product.
The range of chicken tenders are available in two flavours: original and spicy(ish), with no artificial ingredients.
At 480 calories for the entire bag, a 96g serving contains 120 calories and 1.5g fat.
Caulipower founder and CEO Gail Becker said: “We have given chicken tenders a massive nutritional makeover that was long overdue: instead of frying them we baked them. The result is a whopping 86% less fat.”
According to Caulipower, this alternative baking process results in the chicken tenders containing zero saturated fat and zero added sugar, with the lowest calories and fat of any frozen chicken tender.
Caulipower chicken tenders are available in over 8,000 stores nationwide.
Brought to its consumers by its parent brand Vegolutionary Foods, Caulipower reinvents consumers favourite foods such as pizza. Back in January this year, it launched a line of frozen cauliflower tortillas in a move to offer a gluten-free solution to quesadillas, burritos, tacos and wraps.
