British brand Jake and Nayns’ has expanded its portfolio with a new range of burritos.
The on-the-go snacks feature a light tortilla with a variety of spiced fillings. Four flavours are available: BBQ chilli jackfruit, Mexican chicken, jerk chicken and chipotle BBQ pork.
The street food-style burritos can be enjoyed hot or cold and are designed to be eaten with just one hand.
Jake & Nayns’, which last year overhauled the packaging of its Naansters curry-filled naan range, said the burritos are targeted at busy consumers who want a healthier alternative to current snack options.
“Our ongoing aim is to bring world cuisine ready-meal flavours to the on-the-go category by offering a more healthy, tasty and convenient option to what’s already on the market,” said Jake Karia, managing director at Food Attractions.
“Following the amazing success of the Naanster, our first product in the Jake & Nayns’ range, we are confident that our burritos will see the same love from consumers who need a quick and easy but nutritious meal on the move.
“We said we wanted to enhance our offering with other world-famous cuisines and really feel that we have done this here with a little Central American spice.”
The burrito range is available now in Sainsbury’s stores in the UK with a recommended retail price of £2.50 per 205g pack.
