Berlin Packaging has agreed to acquire Netherlands-based Novio Packaging Group, in a move that ‘completes’ its European offering. The deal will see Novio’s Northern European plastic and glass business join Bruni Glass, Berlin Packaging’s Southern European specialty glass and closure business.
The acquisition will strengthen Berlin Packaging’s European plastic offering, enhance its expertise in personal care, pharmaceutical, food, and sports nutrition verticals, as well as expand its Northern European footprint.
The synergy of companies will combine Bruni Glass’ custom line-up of over 3,000 premium glass SKUs and Novio’s experience of providing packaging solutions for some of Europe’s largest companies and its several offices across Northern Europe, to establish Europe’s ‘first packaging supplier for all markets and substrates’.

Novio Packaging marks Berlin’s 13th overall acquisition since 2010 and fifth in 2019 as the company has been adding strategic locations throughout Northern and Southern Europe.
Most recently, Berlin Packaging has sealed a deal to acquire glass packaging supplier Vidrimon, which followed its acquisition of Netherlands-based Vincap & Adolfse.
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be completed in the next 45 days. Novio Packaging’s management team, employees and locations will be retained in the process.
