Chowbotics has released an updated version of its ‘Sally’ salad and fresh food robot, which boasts new technology, an upgraded user experience and new menu options.
The automated machine first came to market in 2018 as a solution which could offer fresh food to consumers 24/7 without the need for staff to create the meals, as Sally’s robotic technology allows the solution to create custom meals from 22 ingredient canisters housed inside the machine.
Sally 2.0 expanded menu now offers breakfast and snack options such as Açai bowls, fruit and yogurt bowls as well as the salad and grain bowls available from the first version. Users are also able to tailor the calorie total of their meal by adding or subtracting ingredients, as well as view full nutritional details for each selection.
The enhanced model also features a larger tablet display which makes it easier for users and operators to use the machine. According to Chowbotics, the upgraded interface ‘makes it easier for customers to make personalized or pre-loaded selections’.
For operators, Sally 2.0 features a new canister design and ‘easier-to-use’ on-screen app that simplifies the re-stocking and cleaning process.
The upgraded solution is also fitted with four wheels, making it easier for operators to move the solution to a convenient location.
The automated Sally solution is suitable for locations such as offices, college campuses and hospitals, and Chowbotics claims that companies such as Bonduelle, The Salad Station and ISS Guckenheimer have already adopted the new solution.
Deepak Sekar, the founder of Chowbotics said: “We’ve seen tremendous market interest in Sally 1.0, with revenue doubling every quarter in 2019.
“We deployed more than 70 robots in our first year following launch, a pace of growth never seen with even the most popular restaurant concepts.
“We believe Sally 2.0, with its boost in usability and operational efficiency, will accelerate consumer adoption and excitement even further.”
