Italian beverage company Campari Group has started negotiations to acquire its current French distributor, Baron Philippe de Rothschild France Distribution.
The business is currently wholly owned by wine company Baron Philippe de Rothschild.
In a statement, Campari Group said: “The transaction is subject to the completion of the appropriate social processes and to customary antitrust approval.”
If successful, Campari said it would provide key financial terms of the deal.
Baron Philippe de Rothschild France Distribution currently distributes Campari Group brands in France such as Aperol, Campari, Skyy Vodka and Appleton Estate.
Last month, Campari Group acquired a majority stake in the owners of ‘super-premium’ alcohol brands Montelobos mezcal and the Ancho Reyes liqueur.
Headquartered in Milan, Campari Group owns 18 plants worldwide and has its own distribution network in 20 countries.
