Nestlé is launching a new caramel-flavoured chocolate bar to its KitKat range in the UK called KitKat Gold, following the success of the product in the Australian market.
According to Nestlé, KitKat Gold combines KitKat’s trademark crispy wafer with a smooth milk chocolate base and a creamy white chocolate topping, while the bar also features sweet caramel notes.
KitKat Gold was released permanently in Australia following a limited-edition launch in 2018, as consumer reception to the product was extremely positive.
KitKat Gold uses UTZ-certified cocoa beans sourced through the Nestlé Cocoa Plan, and the bar contains no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
The caramel-flavoured KitKat Gold bar will be released in the UK in February
The bar will be launched in Co-operative and Nisa stores in the UK as an exclusive on 3 February 2020, before rolling out to most major retailers in the country from 30 March.
Alex Gonnella, Nestlé’s marketing director, Confectionery for the UK and Ireland, said: “We’ve had an amazing response to the new KitKat experiences that we’ve introduced over the last few years.
“I am certain that KitKat Gold is going to be just as big a hit on these shores as it has been down under, especially if the reaction at Nestlé HQ is anything to go by.
“We are very excited to bring KitKat Gold to the UK. What’s more, it’s just one of the exciting plans we have for KitKat and our confectionery portfolio in general in 2020.”
