Barefoot Wine has entered a new category with the launch of Barefoot Hard Seltzer this spring, the ‘first’ nationally distributed hard seltzer made with real wine.
The new line-up will feature four flavours: Pineapple and Passion Fruit, Cherry and Cranberry, Peach and Nectarine, and Strawberry and Guava.
Made with Barefoot Wine, seltzer water and natural flavourings, each 250ml can contains 70 calories, 2g of sugar and has an ABV of 4%.
With its new range, the California-based brand aims to provide a premium alternative to beer and a light-bodied alternative to wine.
According to Barefoot, the launch is drawing off the success of its portfolio of Barefoot Spritzers, which feature a variety of flavours including Pinot Grigio Spritzer, Red Sangria Spritzer and Rosé Spritzer.
“At Barefoot, we are passionate about creating products that meet the various lifestyles and tastes of our diverse consumer base,” said Anna Bell, VP of marketing at Barefoot.
Bell added: “With Barefoot Hard Seltzer, we wanted to create a delicious and light-bodied, wine-based hard seltzer that can be enjoyed at home, on the go, or with family and friends.”
Barefoot Hard Seltzer will be available to purchase online or at retailers nationwide for an RRP of $1.99 per can, $7.99 for a pack of four and $19.99 for a variety 12 pack.
The brand will begin to roll out its products in February 2020.
