Forager Project, the plant-based food and beverage manufacturer backed by Danone, has launched a raft of new organic products.
Currently available at Whole Foods Market stores in the US, additions include high-protein yogurts, dairy-free butter with Peruvian salt, oat milk, grain-free cereal and grain-free chips, as well as a new blackberry flavour of the brand’s probiotic drinkable cashew milk yogurt.
“No matter what meal, breakfast, lunch or dinner, we want to make it easier for people to eat amazing-tasting plant-based foods,” said Forager Project co-founder and CEO Stephen Williamson.
“Whether with our new grain-free protein cereal paired with our oat milk, our high-protein yogurt or our guilt-free, grain-free chips, we are working to make a better future for our planet and people through food choices.”
The new plant-based yogurts feature live active probiotics and are made from coconut and cashew milk, watermelon and pumpkin seeds and brown rice. Two flavours are available: unsweetened plain and vanilla.
Created from cashews and coconut oil, the dairy-free butter features Peruvian salt to add an earthy flavour. According to Forager Project, the product “performs when baking, sautéing or simply spreading”.
The new grain-free chips are made with prebiotic-rich cassava root and tiger nut.
San Francisco-based Forager Project is a family-owned company that has been making plant-based foods since 2013.
Danone invested in the business last year through its Danone Manifesto Ventures (DMV) unit.
At the time of the deal, DMV said it believes Forager Project is a “unique brand with strong potential” in the fast-growing plant-based space.
