The Middleby Corporation has reached an agreement to acquire Deutsche Beverage Technology, a supplier of brewery equipment.
The acquisition will help accelerate Middleby’s product development and expand its beverage offerings.
Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Deutsche Beverage Technology is a custom-design brewery equipment manufacturer and supplier.
The company reportedly has $40 million in annual revenues.
“Deutsche is a technology leader in beverage and liquid processing, offering a wide variety of advanced solutions for beer, cold brew coffee, kombucha and other liquid extraction applications,” said Tim FitzGerald, CEO of The Middleby Corporation.
FitzGerald added: “Being well-positioned in fast growing markets and emerging segments, Deutsche has differentiated technology with highly engineered products. The company is very complementary to Ss Brewtech, which Middleby acquired in June, and we are now in a position to accelerate product development and leverage the sales capabilities of both brands.
“Our commitment remains to strategically expand the Middleby beverage offerings, as operators continue to have great interest in new products and solutions for their high-margin beverage programs.”
Established in 2013, Ss Brewtech engineers stainless steel equipment for brewing beer and kombucha. The company has partnered with breweries such as Rogue Ales, Russian River Brewing and Trillium Brewing to develop solutions for their brewhouse and cellar needs.
In 2019, Middleby acquired Seattle-based Synesso, a designer and manufacturer of semi-automatic espresso machines and US-based Packaging Progressions (Pacproinc).
Synesso, which has revenues of $10 million, joined brands such as Concordia and Bloomfield as part of Middleby’s coffee portfolio.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
