Distilled non-alcoholic spirits brand, Fluère Spirito Non Alcolico, has added a new flavour to its portfolio.
Fluère Smoked Agave is an alcohol-free mezcal alternative. The brand says that its latest offering is produced using the same techniques as alcohol-based spirits, with the addition of fresh Salmiana agave juice from Mexico.
The drink combines the sweetness of agave with some bitter overtones and a hint of black pepper, with flavours developing into eucalyptus and mint.
Designed for mixing and cocktails, the new flavour is said to recreate the taste of mezcal without the alcohol.
Fluère Smoked Agave joins existing Original, Amber (Spiced Cane) and Pink (Raspberry) variants in the brand’s range.
“We’re excited about the latest addition to the Fluère range having seen the success globally of our other non-alcoholic spirits,” said Fluère CEO, Léon Meijers.
“With the growth in the category and the interest in agave and mezcal we felt the time was right for our Smoked Agave launch.”
Fluère has recently appointed Lightbox Brands as its new distributor in the UK.
Fluère’s Smoked Agave mezcal alternative
Meijers continued: “I am very excited to work with Patrick and his team who have a pragmatic ‘hands on’ mentality. Lightbox Brands are a true niche brand-builder with a straightforward and clear marketing approach and that was exactly what we needed for the brand.”
Patrick O’Reilly, founder and managing director of Lightbox Brands, added: “We are very excited to work with Léon and his team at Fluère. The non-alcoholic category is innovative, fast growing and importantly for the trade right now, represents an incremental sale or an added margin opportunity at a tough time.”
Fluère Smoked Agave is launching this year in select markets including the US, Mexico, the UK and Benelux. It will be rolling out globally in 2021.
The mezcal alternative is priced from £20.00 ($29.95) for 70cl and will be available in £12.00 ($14.95) 275ml bottles from November.
