Rhea Vendors Group has unveiled a new experiential coffee machine and a new digital lounge to celebrate its 60th anniversary.
The new Kairos coffee machine is a limited-edition model created in collaboration with Davide Livermore, the artistic director of the National Theatre of Genoa, which aims to ‘revolutionise the concept of the coffee break’ by enhancing the customer experience.
The Kairos machine features a deliberately oversized screen which provides a 32-second multisensory experience, allowing users to take an ‘experiential journey’ on their coffee break.
In addition, the machine can be operated using a connected app. Users can select their drink of choice using this touch-free technology, and a video will then play on the machine while the beverage is being dispensed, allowing users to enjoy the combination of taste, sound and vision and ‘add a touch of beauty and culture to the coffee break’.
Andrea Pozzolini, CEO of Rhea Vendors Group, said: “The machine we have designed with Davide Livermore to celebrate our 60th anniversary takes us on a 32-second journey filled with beautiful images, powerful sounds and the pleasures of flavour.
“Davide Livermore is well acquainted with Rhea because he was a great friend of Carlo Doglioni Majer, whose incredible legacy included teaching us to make culture and passion part of the company vision and the designs of our machines.
“Davide’s celebratory machine combines the quality of time with the quality of good coffee, adding a touch of culture to our coffee break to create a whole new experience”.
Davide Livermore, added: “I believe that in this day and age, one of our biggest achievements is the possibility of taking some time for ourselves and forgetting about our anxieties.
“My aim was to bring all these factors together: The imaginative power of the theatre with a 32-second break in time which we can dedicate to ourselves. A chance to restore contact with ourselves through the medium of a multisensory journey”.
The company has also launched the Think Together digital lounge, an online platform which aims to connect people across the world to discuss ideas on the themes of sustainability, innovation and culture applied to the business and social world.
These online dialogues will be moderated by Davide Livermore; photographer and women’s rights activist Simona Ghizzoni; and Michelin-star chef Davide Scabin.
Rhea claims that this lounge will provide a meeting place to develop and share ideas and identify solutions, envisioning a path that generates value for businesses.
