Mark Anthony Brewing is investing $400 million in a new brewery and production facility in South Carolina, in order to keep up with demand for its White Claw Hard Seltzer.
Located in Richland County, the facility will produce White Claw Hard Seltzer, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, Mike’s Harder Lemonade and Cayman Jack Cocktails to meet increased demand in the southern US. Warehousing and distribution operations will also be located on site.
The news comes after it has invested $250 million in a new facility in Glendale, Arizona.
“Once complete, this new state-of-the-art facility will be a centre of excellence for our patented PureBrew process which allows White Claw, Mike’s and our growing portfolio of market-leading beverages to taste like no other,” said Mark Anthony brewing president, John Sacksteder.
According to the South Carolina Department of Commerce, the move represents one of the largest economic investments in Richland County history – creating 300 new jobs – and one of the largest breweries built in the US in over 25 years.
Construction will begin almost immediately and the facility is expected to be fully operational by summer 2021.
Central South Carolina Alliance chairman, W. Keller Kissam, added: “We are thrilled that Mark Anthony Brewing has selected Richland County as its newest destination to continue growing its popular collection of brands.
“With its new state-of-the-art facility, the company will be able to tap into the many talents of the local skilled workforce, while strengthening the county’s appeal to more big brand names in the food and beverage industry and beyond.”
