Candy wholesale distributor B.A.Sweetie Candy Company has acquired Campbell’s Sweet Factory, a popcorn and sweets manufacturer, for an undisclosed sum.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Cleveland Ohio based wholesaler has purchased all of the assets of the popcorn kitchen, bakery, and retail locations.
Meanwhile, Jeff and Lynn Campbell – former owners of Campbell’s Sweet Factory – will continue to manage the new Sweeties Campbell’s Popcorn Company for the near future.
Opened in 2004, Campbell’s Sweet Factory operates a popcorn manufacturing and distribution facility; a bakery and chocolate kitchen; and two locations across Cleveland.
Established in 1950, B.A.Sweetie supplies over 250 wholesale customers with candy and popcorn to the grocery, convenience, and specialty retail trade. The company operates a 40,000 square-foot distribution centre and retail store in Cleveland, Ohio.
“We’re proud to add the Campbell’s products to our existing offerings and are excited to increase the distribution of the popcorn items to our existing wholesale customers,” said Tom Scheiman, president of B.A.Sweetie Candy Company.
Jeff Campbell added: “We’re excited to have the support and expertise of B.A.Sweetie to grow the Campbell’s brands and are confident more North East Ohio consumers will be pleased with enjoying our delicious products.”
