Ocean Spray Cranberries has unveiled a new functional beverage brand, B1U, as the company seeks to expand further into the health and wellness categories.
According to Ocean Spray, the new line features simple ingredients, easy-to-understand nutrition and recyclable packaging.
The first product in the B1U range is an ‘enhanced water’, which will be followed by further beverage additions in the future.
Free from sugar and artificial sweeteners, the new infused waters come in four flavours: I need a boost, a watermelon and cucumber offering with 60mg of black tea caffeine; I need rhythm, a strawberry basil water with 8g of plant-based fibre; I need immunity, a lemon chamomile drink with 22mg of zinc and 128mg of vitamin C; I need power, a peach and kiwi water with 10g of protein.
“The functional beverage category continues to be driven by health-conscious consumers who know their food is fuel for living a healthy life and are interested in a holistic approach to wellbeing,” said Kim McAllister, director of core innovation at Ocean Spray.
“We are excited to offer the B1U brand as an innovative new entrant into the fast-growing infused water category that is forward-thinking, tasty and nutritious, and will inspire customers to try it and choose it again and again.”
The B1U range is available via Amazon and is launching into select Target stores this month. The drinks will also be available at select Walmart stores in December.
At the beginning of 2020, Ocean Spray announced the launch of a new beverage range made with real fruit juice and cold brew coffee.
