Berlin Packaging has announced the acquisitions of Repli and Pentapackaging, as it looks to strengthen its plastic offering in southern Europe.
Berlin says that the purchase of the two plastic packaging companies will significantly expand its product portfolio for several end markets, including food and beverage.
Repli and Pentapackaging also bring over 9,000 square metres of additional warehouse space in Spain and Italy, where they are respectively based.
“Repli and Pentapackaging have grown consistently over the past six years. We are excited about our future with Berlin Packaging,” said Marc Bartomeus, CEO of Repli, and Fabrizio Mondolfo, managing director of Pentapackaging.
“We are confident that all our customers and suppliers will benefit from this combination.”
Paolo Recrosio, CEO of Berlin Packaging Europe, added: “The additions of Repli and Pentapackaging strengthen our offering in southern Europe, enabling us to better support customers of all sizes across all verticals.”
The financial terms of the transactions have not been disclosed.
Berlin Packaging has agreed eight other acquisition deals in Europe since 2016, including for the recently announced purchase of glass packaging supplier Vinkova.
At the end of 2019, the company snapped up Netherlands-based Novio Packaging Group, strengthening Berlin’s European plastic offering and expanding its northern European footprint.
The deal followed on the heels of an agreement for the acquisition of glass packaging company Vidrimon.
