Culligan-owned Quench has launched a new touchless, bottle-free filtered water system throughout the US and Canada.
Quench Q8 is a bottle-free water cooler with sensor-activated touchless dispensing that allows users to dispense hot or cold drinking water without touching the machine.
The cooler can be connected to an existing water supply and is available nationwide in the US and Canada as a floor-standing model and compact countertop model.
Both Quench Q8 units feature mineral-infused and electrolyte-enhanced water through Quench’s proprietary 5-filter purification system, as well as LED UV-C to help maintain cleanliness and water quality.
“With the current world environment, we are pleased to offer our customers the confidence of sanitary touchless dispensing,” said Ted Hertz, Quench’s vice president of product management.
He added: “By using Position Sensitive Detector (PSD) sensors, the Q8 offers our customers reliable touchless dispensing without the concern of false dispensing from light reflections, radio waves, or even static electricity.”
John Whalen, senior vice president of sales, marketing and customer service at Quench, said: “When the Covid-19 pandemic hit we conducted customer research and learned that a touchless interface would dispel top concerns about employee health and safety. With our customers in mind, we swiftly updated our current designs to include touchless dispensing.”
Earlier this year, Quench launched a high-capacity water and ice dispenser and acquired Pure Water Technology of San Diego, a supplier of commercial water solutions such as mains-fed water dispensers.
