UK cheese manufacturer Norseland has unveiled two new Easter-themed cheeses as part of its Ilchester range.
Ilchester Spiced Blueberry Hot Cross Bun Wheeler features cheddar cheese blended with blueberry pieces, orange peel and dark raisins, ‘lightly spiced’ with cinnamon.
Meanwhile, Ilchester Double Chocolate and Orange Wheeler is a ‘rich and creamy’ Wensleydale with shards of milk and white chocolate, as well as orange pieces.
Norseland says that its new cheeses make “the perfect novelty additions” to an Easter weekend cheeseboard and can also be enjoyed on sweet biscuits like shortbread and digestives.
“On 19 March, we as a country will have endured a whole year of restrictions to our freedom as a result of the pandemic, and we are now in the third national lockdown,” said Lisa Harrison, senior brand manager at Norseland.
“We were really keen to create some new products that can help lift our spirits as we approach Easter. And while we are unsure about whether we will be able to celebrate the Easter break with family and friends, these tasty, unique and innovative cheeses will provide us with a novel addition to our indulgent Easter gastronomical experiences that we can really look forward to enjoying.”
The two new products will be available at Asda stores across the UK from 18 March.
Last year, Norseland added a new cheese to its Ilchester range for Bonfire Night.
