Primo Water Corporation subsidiary, Primo Water North America, has acquired The Sweetwater Company, an Oregon-based bottled water firm trading as Earth2O.
Earth2O supplies residential and retail customers in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest with bottled spring water. The company was founded in 1991 and sources its water in the Cascade mountains.
Customers will still be able to purchase Earth2O products under the company’s new ownership, in addition to Primo’s Sierra Springs brand and other water products.
According to a statement from Primo Water Corporation, the acquisition will add approximately 9,000 new customers to Primo’s existing customer base, and will strengthen its footprint in the Pacific Northwest.
“Earth2O shares our focus on offering high-quality products and delivering superior customer service in a way that aligns with our core values of sustainability, healthy living and giving back to our communities,” said Tom Harrington, CEO of Primo Water Corporation.
“The addition of Earth2O expands the Primo footprint and customer density in the Pacific Northwest and furthers our vision of providing pure-play water solutions whenever, wherever and however our customers want them. We are excited to welcome Earth2O customers and associates to our family.”
Formerly known as Cott Corporation, Primo Water Corporation was established as Cott’s new corporate name following its acquisition of Primo Water in a deal ‘valued at $775 million’ last year.
