German snacks and confectionery manufacturer Zertus has agreed to acquire peanut and nut supplier, The Sun Valley Nut Company, for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 1949, Sun Valley supplies nuts, peanut butters and crisps under its namesake and ‘Nuts for’ brands. The acquisition complements Zertus’s existing brand portfolio, which includes: Nomo; Baileys Chocolates, created in partnership with Diageo; The Fruit Factory; and Forest of Hope.
Zertus UK & Ireland CEO, Paul Tripp, said: “This is a strong acquisition for Zertus in the UK and one that complements our existing businesses in the healthier snacking sector. It will allow us to leverage our combined innovation and operational competencies to drive growth through exciting new products while enabling us to meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.”
Sun Valley has three operational facilities spread across two sites in Bromborough, Wirral, which will continue to operate under Zertus’s control following the acquisition.
