365 Retail Markets has reached an agreement to acquire Scottish catering software company, Spoonfed, for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 2013, Spoonfed is a web-based software subscription service that helps catering businesses and restaurant chains across the US, UK and western Europe.
Spoonfed co-founder, Murray McNicol, said: “At Spoonfed, we simply want to make [caterers] day better by providing the best tools to help them produce and deliver great food, without worrying about the admin”.
The deal includes 365 obtaining full ownership of Spoonfed and supporting its growth in the US and European markets. According to the company, Spoonfed’s co-founders will continue in the business, alongside Allison Sutera, 365’s chief growth officer.
365’s CEO, Joe Hessling, said: “We are proud of the significant growth we have achieved to date as we drive value for stakeholders across the foodservice industry as well as corporate campuses and we see tremendous opportunities ahead”.
He continued: “We have built a fantastic relationship with the Spoonfed team, and they share our vision for the business…We are thrilled to partner with them as we embark on this next chapter of our company’s growth targeting international markets, higher education, and business dining sectors.”
