ADM has opened its first facility in Latin America – a $4.7 million innovation centre in Hortolândia, Brazil.
The new facility features a UHT pasteuriser, spray dryer pilot and hamburger molding machine, as well as three application pilot plants and two flavour development laboratories.
The centre will enable ADM to strengthen its position in Latin American markets and invest further in the human nutrition area.
“The ADM innovation centre is an important step for the company to position itself as a major player in the human nutrition market, strengthening our operations in the food and beverage industry in addition to e-commerce and foodservice channels,” said Roberto Ciciliano, president of Food in Latin America.
Andréa Lunardini, leader of the technical area of ADM in Latin America, commented: “This modern structure further consolidates our technical expertise and connects us with customers and partners to develop and present innovative solutions that add flavour, texture, appearance, functionality and process, starting from consumer insights and market trends”.
The recent development follows the company’s acquisition of flavour ingredients and solutions business, Flavor Infusion International.
