ADM re-opens upgraded flour milling facility in Oklahoma

ADM has re-opened its flour mill in Enid, Oklahoma, following an upgrade project which modernised the equipment at the facility.

The mill was originally constructed in 1928, and the retrofit operation saw ADM replace the two existing milling units with a single, highly-automated unit to increase production capacity at the site.

A new high-speed packer will also be installed at the facility in the first quarter of 2019, further optimising operations at the facility.

ADM Milling is one of the world’s largest milling companies, operating multiple wheat mills in the US, Canada and Central America, and the company claims that the upgraded facility will allow ADM to continue to grow its customer base in the region.

Kevin Like, vice-president of ADM Milling said: “For many decades, the Enid flour mill has served as a focal point for the region’s wheat harvest.

“We’re building upon that legacy with upgrades to the facility that will provide even better service to our customers.

“Local farmers from America’s breadbasket supply our mill. Along with helping customers and our business, the upgrades here will benefit our suppliers here in the heart of wheat country.
