Plant-based meal delivery company Allplants has installed several self-checkout freezers as part of a new trial in the UK, providing a platform which offers plant-based meals to customers in an “innovative new format”.
On trial at White City-based co-working space Huckle Tree, the vibrant yellow pop-up freezers feature nine dishes including Cashew Mac and Rigatoni Carbonara.
The freezers are locked until a payment is taken via an iPad which is connected to the unit.
Alex Petrides, Allplants co-founder said: “As part of encouraging millions of people to fall in love with plant-based food, we’ve always aimed to make every delicious recipe our chefs create easily available to everyone, any time.
“We’re excited to see where we could be popping up next.”
Recommended prices for the plant-based meals available from the freezers start at dishes start at £6.75.
