US snack brand Alter Eco is releasing a new Grass Fed Milk Chocolate Collection in June which promote its sustainability efforts.
Made with 46% Peruvian cocoa, the chocolate is said to deliver an ‘indulgent, creamy texture’.
The gluten-free line is available in three flavours: Grass Fed Milk, Grass Fed Milk with Salted Almonds and Grass Fed Milk with Rice Crunch.
According to Alter Eco, the grass-fed cows have access to the outdoors 365 days a year and are open pastured twice as long as USDA Certified Organic standards.
Additionally, the brand is committed to providing clean ingredients which means never using corn feed. With a diet made up of 90% grass, everything the cows eat is grown directly on the land for a low-input approach to dairy farming.
Alter Eco claims to practice a full-circle approach to sustainability throughout its operations and supply chain. Each bar is USDA Certified Organic, Fair Trade Certified, Carbon Neutral Certified and packaged in FSC Certified paper.
“So many people love the classic taste of milk chocolate so we wanted to create a collection that not only tastes decadent but supports the restorative agricultural and sustainability practices we stand for,” said Mike Forbes, CEO of Alter Eco.
He added: “We’re proud to have created a milk chocolate bar that aligns with our high standards.”
The new collection will join the brand’s portfolio of truffles, bars – which range from 47-90% cocoa – and vegan dark chocolate coconut clusters.
From June, Alter Eco’s new Grass Fed Milk Chocolate Collection will be available to purchase nationwide at major food retailers for an RRP of $3.99 per 75g bar.
