Organic baby food company Amara has expanded beyond its convenient baby food pouches with the launch of a new line of toddler snacks.
Amara’s Organic Smoothie Melts are made with a range of fruit and vegetables and contain no added sugar.
The melt-in-mouth snacks come in plant-based and yogurt-based varieties including beets n’ berries, carrot raspberry and mango carrots.
Recommended for infants 8 months to 4 years of age, the snacks are shaped to encourage skills such as grasping and chewing.
Established in 2017, Amara is known for its 100% organic whole fruit and vegetable blend baby meals, which are designed to mix with breast milk, formula or water to support the transition to solid food.
Packaged in a resealable bag, Amara’s new snack line is ready-to-eat and shelf-stable for up to two years.
“We started Amara under the vision of providing families with fresh, healthy, convenient, and affordable baby food and we’ll continue to do that as their babies grow up,” said Amara founder and CEO, Jessica Sturzenegger.
The product launch comes after Amara secured $2 million in seed funding in March from a series of investors, including the ex-chairman of Hershey’s.
Amara’s new Organic Smoothie Melts are available online and in select grocery retailers, with a nationwide roll out planned for January 2021.
