Quinoa Corporation-owned Ancient Harvest has launched a new line of wheat-free vegetable pasta, containing just five ‘clean’ ingredients.
The Colorado-based company’s new gluten-free pasta features a blend of green lentils, kale, spinach and cauliflower, bound together with natural tapioca starch.
Offering an ‘al dente-like bite’, the pasta line features penne, rotini and spaghetti variants. The vegetable-based offering contains 12g of protein per 2oz portion.
Only 9% of American adults consume the two to three cups of vegetables they are recommended per day, according to figures provided by the company.
Ancient Harvest claims that its latest offering contains one full serving of vegetables per portion, double what the brand says an equivalent helping of wheat-based vegetable pasta offers.
The new pasta line is available, for an MSRP of $4.49 per 8oz box, on Amazon and from Sprouts stores.
Ancient Harvest’s vegetable pasta is the latest addition to the company’s pasta portfolio, joining existing variants such as organic corn, brown rice & quinoa pasta.
Earlier this year, Ancient Harvest revealed that it had acquired gluten-free brand Pamela’s, in a move that united two gluten-free suppliers under the common management of Quinoa Corporation.
