Ardagh Group has created a new glass packaging Development Machine, which is capable of producing glass bottles and jars in a wide variety of heights, weights, diameters and design styles.
Ardagh produced the new machine following a multi-million dollar development project, and the company claims that the machine can reduce product launch times by around 30%.
The machine is located in Ardagh Group’s glass manufacturing facility in Port Allegany, Pennsylvania, and Ardagh says that the new machine “makes it seamless for brand owners to create custom bottle designs, launch new products, or unveil limited edition releases.”
This new machine allows Ardagh to simulate a wide range of manufacturing conditions, and it can make glass bottles and jars while incorporating design features such as unique textures and embossing.
Alex Robertson, chief commercial officer of Ardagh Group’s North American Glass division said: “As a leader in glass packaging, Ardagh Group continues to focus on innovation and this flexible facility enables our customers to achieve real reductions in the time taken to get their products to market.”
