Azelis-owned food ingredient and chemicals distributor, Megafarma, is opening its first full-service innovation centre in Mexico City, as Azelis aims to strengthen its position in the Americas.
Featuring five industry-specific application labs, including one for food, the facility will have capabilities spanning the entire product development process, from concept to final formulation.
Located in the northern outskirts of Mexico City, the new 10,000-square-foot facility will host virtual and live customer seminars, interactive formulation workshops and technical training for Azelis’s sales teams.
The application labs will provide services spanning custom formulations, product development, regulatory compliance, problem solving and sales support to customers in the food industry, as well as the pharma and plastics markets, and Azelis’s care and CASE business areas.
Azelis says that the new centre further strengthens its position in the Americas and supports its aim to be the leader in distribution of speciality chemicals and ingredients in the region.
“The opening of this new innovation centre marks a turning point for Azelis in Mexico,” said Frank Bergonzi, CEO and president, Azelis Americas.
“Azelis can now provide an unsurpassed level of service, technology and innovative solutions to our customers in the region. Our new state-of-the-art laboratories will deliver on our mission of ‘innovation through formulation’.”
Azelis signed an agreement to acquire Megafarma at the end of 2019 in a move to enter the Latin America market.
