Beam Suntory has released a limited-edition Basil Hayden’s 10-Year-Old Bourbon, aged in American oak barrels to give an “additional layer of complexity”.
Available now in the US, the whiskey will return in limited quantities each holiday season.
Featuring Basil Hayden’s trademark high-rye bourbon recipe, the spirit is said to have heightened oak aromas with hints of vanilla.
With an ABV of 40%, the beverage has a taste of oak balanced by caramel sweetness and rye spice.
Rob Mason, vice president of whiskey at Beam Suntory, said: “Basil Hayden’s has always been a crowd-pleasing choice, especially during a time when people are getting together to share drinks or a celebratory meal.
“With the release of Basil Hayden’s 10-Year-Old Bourbon, we wanted to give our fans an expression that could be that ‘special something’ to enjoy when spending time with family and friends over the holidays or when picking out a great gift.”
The whiskey is now available in the US in a 750ml bottle with a suggested retail price of $59.99. It is packaged in a parchment bib and wrapped with a copper belt.
Earlier this year, Beam Suntory launched Basil Hayden’s Two by Two Rye, featuring a blend of two Kentucky straight rye whiskies and two Kentucky straight bourbon whiskies.
