Berlin Packaging has closed a deal to acquire Italian packaging supplier Vetroservice for an undisclosed value, as it continues its European expansion.
Vetroservice supplies glass packaging for the food and beverage markets, with extensive experience in packaging for the olive oil, balsamic vinegar and wine sectors. Vetroservice’s background as well as its strategic central location in Italy, will enhance Berlin Packaging’s offerings to European customers.
Berlin Packaging is a supplier of glass, plastic, and metal containers and closures to companies in the beverage, food, pharmaceutical and household sectors.
Berlin Packaging operates in Europe through its Bruni Glass division, headquartered in Milan, Italy and its Bruni Erben division, head-quartered in Hadleigh, England. Customers and suppliers of both companies are expected to benefit from the combined operations.
As part of the exchange, Vetroservice customers will have access to Berlin Packaging’s stock keeping units (more than 40,000), design and innovation centres, quality consulting and capital lending service.
With integration planning of the two business under way, the combined company will include over 200 sales staff members.

The recent purchase marks Berlin Packaging’s 11th overall acquisition since 2010, the fifth in Europe since 2016, and the third in 2019.
Most recently, the packaging supplier acquired Netherlands-based Vincap & Adolfse, another investment that will expanding its European presence.
