Biotiful Dairy is expanding its kefir portfolio with a new strawberry variant as it looks to drive mass appeal for kefir and bring new consumers into the category.
Available in the UK in 250ml and 500ml formats, the strawberry kefir is positioned as “a delicious way for consumers to upgrade their dairy intake”, whether enjoyed for breakfast, an on-the-go snack as an addition to lunch.
The new variant complements the brand’s existing range of kefir cultured dairy drinks and aims to capitalise on strawberry’s position as the top flavour in dairy, according to Biotiful.
The brand’s other kefir flavours include: raspberry, cherry, cacao, honey and ginger, and strawberry and grapefruit.
Biotiful Dairy founder Natasha Bowes said: “We know that consumers across the UK enjoy Biotiful’s products for their great taste as well as the unmatched natural benefits they bring.
“Strawberries are traditionally associated with the summer months so this new SKU makes a timely debut, and provides consumers with another delicious way to enjoy all the goodness of kefir.”
According to Biotiful Dairy, the strawberry kefir has 7.3g of protein per portion, contains vitamins B2 and B12, calcium and phosphorus, and is “naturally packed with billions of diverse gut-friendly bacteria”.
The product is made with British milk, live cultures, real fruit and with no sugar added.
The 250ml bottle is available with a recommended retail price of £1.45 and the 500ml format retails for £2.25.
Earlier this year, Biotiful Dairy released three new spoonable kefir quark pots with fruit compote that are “designed to help consumers upgrade from sugar-laden yogurt”, Biotiful said.
