Birds Eye has expanded its Chunky Fish Finger range with the launch of a ‘Chip Shop Curry’ variant – inspired by chip shop curry sauce.
The new product has been created by adding curry-flavoured panko breadcrumbs to its Chunky Fish Fingers. The latest addition aligns with the rest of the brand’s portfolio, in that it contains no artificial colours or flavourings.
Mike Sowerby, marketing manager for fish at Birds Eye, said: “We’re looking forward to seeing shoppers add variety to their meals with the launch of our first ever ‘flavoured’ fish finger in the UK. With curry sauce being England’s second most popular (and Wales’ first) chip shop topping on fish and chips, it made sense to combine our iconic fish fingers with one of the nation’s most loved condiments.”
NHS guidelines state that ‘a healthy balanced diet should include two portions of fish a week’, – Birds Eye expects the Chunky Chip Shop Curry Fish Fingers to help shoppers increase their fish intake.
The new fish fingers provide a source of Vitamin D, which helps to support the normal function of the immune system.
The Chip Shop Curry Sauce Chunky Fish Fingers are available now in Farmfoods stores for an RRP of £3.75, with wider rollout into more retailers expected later in the year.
