UK-based Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses has launched Blacksticks Blue Cheese Brûlée ahead of Christmas.
The product, which Butlers said is the “world’s first” cheese brûlée, is made with Blacksticks Blue cheese and topped with a dusting of demerara sugar, ready for caramelising under the grill.
In a statement, Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses said: “Delicious as both a starter and a dessert, get guests and family cracking their brûlée tops either before or after the main event – beating any traditional prawn cocktail or chocolate yule log.
“The Blacksticks Blue Cheese Brûlée can also be part of a Boxing Day buffet – try adding as a warm option to spice up your cheeseboard this festive season.”
The product is now available in Morrisons stores with a recommended retail price of £3.50.
Based in Lancashire, Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses produces cheese brands such as Ravens Oak, Kidderton Ash and Crumbly Lancashire.
Earlier this year, the dairy launched Blacksticks Blue Egg, a spreadable blue cheese Easter egg as an alternative gift to chocolate.
