Capilano Honey, a market leader for the honey sector in Australia, has announced the release of Beeotic, a prebiotic honey to its US market.
Beeotic Honey is a combination of eight naturally occurring carbohydrates, called oligosaccharides, which the company says may help nourish good bacteria in the gut. The functionality of this condiment can offer consumers more ways to incorporate health and wellness into their daily diets.
Dr. Ben McKee, managing director of Capilano Honey, said: “As we expand into the US market, we are thrilled to deliver the delicious taste of pure, Australian honey along with its health benefits to a broader international audience.
“We test every batch of Beeotic Honey to ensure it contains prebiotic components so people around the world can help support their digestive health by consuming real, pure honey.”
The prebiotics that Beeotic contains are indigestible by humans, but can allow good bacteria in the gut to thrive and therefore help improve digestive health.
McKee went on to say: “Beeotic provides a convenient, tasty and safe way for people to consume prebiotics on a daily basis as part of their normal routines.
“As gut health continues to be a focus for the public at large, we remain dedicated to creating honey that may naturally support the health of the gut microbiome through food.”
