Hormel Foods-owned Columbus Craft Meats has released an India pale ale-flavoured salami as it aims to tap into the popularity of craft beer.
The business has partnered with California-based beer maker Faction Brewing to create “its boldest flavour yet”.
The cured sausage is said to have notes of sweet pepper, citrus and spicy hops and has no added hormones and no artificial colours or flavours.
“Craft beer continues to grow in popularity and we wanted to celebrate that in a uniquely Columbus way,” said Henry Hsia, director of marketing at Columbus.
“The new Columbus India pale ale salami is perfect for our adventurous consumers looking to try something new or upgrade their charcuterie boards.”
The 8oz salami is now available in the US, priced at $7.99.
Earlier this year, Columbus released a line of salami with cheeses, available in three variants: Italian dry salami with white cheddar cheese, Genoa salami with provolone cheese, and pepperoni with fontina cheese.
