Dang Foods is set to release a new range of plant-based snack bars in the US, and the bars are gluten-free and suitable for vegans.
Available in three flavour varieties, including Almond Vanilla, Lemon Matcha, and Chocolate Sea Salt, the bars are made from a range of natural ingredients such as almond butter chia seeds and coconut.
The bars contain approximately 10g of protein, 15g of fat, 4-5g of net carbs and the brand says that this makes them suitable for those following a ketogenic diet.
Dang founder Vincent Kitirattragarn said: “Dang’s keto-friendly Lightly Salted Coconut Chips are the fastest growing item within the portfolio due to their high-fat, low-carb macronutrient profile.
“Keto is on fire right now, garnering more interest than Paleo and Whole30 because the benefits are clear: mental acuity, sustained energy, and reduced appetite.
“We did the research and couldn’t find good-tasting keto snacks, so we decided to make Dang Bar using whole ingredients.
“We pride ourselves on creating delicious snacks with Asian flavours and ingredients and Dang Bar is no exception.”
The new bars will be available from Amazon from October, and Whole Foods Stores from January 2019, with a suggested retial price of $2.49 per bar.
Three additional ‘Asian-inspired’ flavours will be made available in February 2019, including Cardamom Chai, Toasted Coconut and Saigon Cinnamon Chocolate.
