Danone North America has launched Horizon Organic Growing Years, a new whole milk created specifically for children aged one to five.
Developed in partnership with paediatricians, Growing Years contains DHA Omega-3, choline, prebiotics, vitamin D and calcium.
“This delicate growing and transition period can feel like a big change for parents and kids alike, and it’s important to Horizon that we continue to support families every step of the way,” said Domenic Borrelli, president of premium dairy at Danone North America.
“Throughout history, milk has been synonymous with childhood nutrition and healthy development, and offering an organic product specially made for those early years is a natural next step for us.”
In partnership with a network of more than 600 organic farms across the US, Horizon sources its milk from pasture-raised cows that spend at least 120 days grazing each year.
Growing Years is now available at select stores across the US.
Earlier this year, Danone launched Horizon Organic High Protein, a milk line that is said to provide 50% more protein per serving than traditional dairy milk.
The Horizon Organic brand was acquired by Danone as part of the $12.5 billion WhiteWave Foods merger. Last year, Danone dropped the WhiteWave name a year after completing the deal.
