Danone North America has moved its Silk plant-based beverage brand into the ready-to-drink coffee category with two new lattes.
Featuring a blend of almond milk and oat milk, the dairy-free Silk Lattes are available in the US in two flavours: espresso and mocha.
Both variants feature cold brew arabica coffee with espresso to create a “rich, full-bodied” latte. The mocha flavour mixes three types of cocoa to impart a balanced chocolate flavour.
“Skip the line, chatter and spotty wifi with Silk Lattes – the perfect way to savour a coffeehouse-quality latte from the comfort of your home,” said David Robinson, senior brand manager for Silk.
“Silk is excited to enter the coffee category with a dairy-free and hassle-free option that brings barista-quality coffee into your home, minus the upcharge.”
The lattes are packaged in a recyclable plant-based bottle, with at least 80% of its material made from renewable sugarcane.
Silk Ready-to-Drink Lattes are now available for a suggested retail price of $5.49 per 48oz bottle at retailers in the US.
The launch follows a raft of new Silk innovations released this year, including a DHA Omega-3 drink, a dairy-free whipped cream and a dairy-free half and half alternative.
