Dean Foods has expanded its Steve’s Ice Cream portfolio in the US with seven new flavours, alongside a fresh visual identity for the brand.
Three new dairy-based variants introduced are: spearmint chocolate brownie, Sicilian chocolate cannoli and cold-brewed cinnamon coffee.
Dairy-free flavours, made with coconut cream, include: Moroccan mash up, featuring a honey and orange blossom flavour with chopped almonds and a pomegranate swirl; passion carnivale, with passionfruit, ribbons of caramel and mango pieces; cold-brewed cinnamon coffee; and chocolate cherry blossom.
Dean Foods, which acquired Steve’s Ice Cream in 2017, has enlisted the help of Seattle-based artist Drew Wicklund to bring the full portfolio of Steve’s to life through refreshed packaging.
Wicklund’s hand-drawn designs aim to highlight the inspiration for each flavour by creating unique identifying icons that define each variety.
“My goal for this packaging was not only to catch the consumer’s attention, but ensure each creation was informed by the exciting palettes and globally inspired flavours that live inside every pint,” Wicklund said.
Mark Schneider, marketing director, ice cream, Dean Foods, added: “We are excited to engage with art and artists from packaging and content creation, to experiential activations this summer. Creativity and experimentation have always been central to the Steve’s DNA and this refresh celebrates its long-standing heritage.”
Steve’s Ice Cream is now available at select grocery retailers across the US. The brand will partner with contemporary artists this summer in several markets to create immersive experiences for consumers.
