Diageo introduces eight Game of Thrones-themed Scotch whiskies

Diageo has teamed up with television network HBO to launch a limited-edition range of Game of Thrones-themed Scotch whiskies.

The Game of Thrones Single Malt Whisky Collection has been launched to tide fans over during their wait for the eighth and final season of the show later this year.

The line features eight Scotch whiskies, each paired with one of the Houses of Westeros, and one with the Night’s Watch, to give fans “an authentic taste of the Seven Kingdoms and beyond”.

All are available in 700cl bottles with suggested retail prices from between £38 to £65. Diageo said the collection is now available to pre-order in select European countries and will arrive with customers from 19 February.

• HouseStark – Dalwhinnie Winter’s Frost (£48), ABV 43%
• House Tully – Singleton of Glendullan Select (£38), ABV 40%
• House Targaryen – Cardhu Gold Reserve (£48), ABV 40%
• House Lannister – Lagavulin 9 Year Old (£65), ABV 46%
• The Night’s Watch – Oban Bay Reserve (£65), ABV 43%
• House Greyjoy – Talisker Select Reserve (£48), ABV 45.8%
• House Baratheon – Royal Lochnagar 12 Year Old (£38), ABV 40%
• House Tyrell – Clynelish Reserve (£48), ABV 51.2%

The release follows on from Diageo’s introduction last year of Johnnie Walker White Walker whisky. The 41.7% ABV Scotch features single malt whiskies from the Cardhu and Clynelish distilleries in Scotland, and has notes of caramelised sugar and vanilla, fresh red berries with a touch of orchard fruit.
