Diageo‘s Guinness brand has launched a limited-edition barrel-aged, chocolate-mint flavoured stout ahead of the holidays.
Brewed at the Guinness’ Open Gate Brewery in Baltimore, Maryland, US, Guinness Chocolate Mint Stout Aged in Kentucky Bourbon Barrels uses dried mint leaves and cacao. The 10.8% abv beer contains “bold flavours” that come from a blend of bright mint, dark chocolate and bourbon oak flavours.
“With each new beer from our barrel-ageing programme, we look to challenge ourselves with flavour combinations and tastes that most people wouldn’t expect from Guinness,” said Open Gate Brewery’s head brewer, Sean Brennan. “And that’s exactly what we’ve got here with our Chocolate Mint Stout Aged in Kentucky Bourbon Barrels.”
Guinness Chocolate Mint Stout Aged in Kentucky Bourbon Barrels is available nationwide in a four-pack of 11.2oz bottles with an SRP of $19.99.
In September, Diageo teamed up with The Flava People to introduce a new Guinness Cooking Paste.
