The singer will star in a series of 30- and 60-second TV advertisement spots in the first major Diet Coke campaign since 1994 to be launched in many countries across Europe. The campaign kicks off in February 2009.
Coca-Cola Great Britain marketing director, Cathryn Sleight, said: “We have a strong heritage in creating entertaining and memorable advertising for Diet Coke that’s loved by our female fans. Our campaigns are well known for tapping into a powerful social and cultural zeitgeist, and Duffy is a great embodiment of today’s modern female attitudes. She has a strong appeal with our core female audience and we’re confident that this campaign will become just as iconic as previous Diet Coke advertising campaigns.”
The multi-million pound ‘Hello You’ campaign will run throughout 2009, along with an on-pack promotion in which drinkers will have the opportunity to win £10,000 every day throughout February.
CCE trade communications manager, Kenny Chisholm, said: “We’re incredibly confident the new advertising campaign and accompanying on-pack promotional activity will create mass appeal among our core female audience throughout 2009. This will help boost sales and incremental profits for retailers.”
