Eat Just has partnered with Asian grocery delivery platform Foodpanda on what it claims will be the world’s first home delivery of cultured meat.
The collaboration will see meals featuring Eat Just’s Good Meat cultured chicken product available for delivery on the Foodpanda app for a limited time in Singapore.
From 22 April, customers can order three dishes containing cultured chicken prepared by Singapore’s 1880 – the first restaurant which served Eat Just’s cultured meat to its guests. These include chicken and rice, katsu chicken curry and chicken Caesar salad.
The restaurant launch and now the brand’s cultured meat delivery debut comes after Singapore became the first country to approve the sale for cultured meat.
Eat Just and Foodpanda plan to team up with additional restaurants in Singapore to offer new dishes with its cultured meat for delivery in coming months.
Each order will be packaged in an eco-friendly box made from bamboo fibre and resin and will be delivered by Foodpanda riders on ebikes.
“Bringing Good Meat directly to the homes of people in Singapore with Foodpanda is another historically important step in our journey to build a safer, healthier food system,” said Josh Tetrick, co-founder and CEO of Eat Just.
Jakob Angele, CEO of Foodpanda APAC, said: “Food is at the core of our business, and ensuring that we have a sustainable food ecosystem is an important agenda for us. Foodpanda is thrilled to be the first platform in the world to deliver cultured meat dishes so that customers in Singapore can be the world’s first diners to enjoy them from the comforts of their home.
“Together with Eat Just, we hope to bring this to more markets – not just in Asia but also in every country in the world where Delivery Hero brands operate.”
