Ecotone UK has expanded its Kallø portfolio with the addition of a new rice and corn cake flavour, cocoa, date and vanilla.
Through the ‘unique’ flavour combination, Ecotone UK (formerly Wessanen UK) aims to challenge the sweet biscuit category.
The new Kallø offering is available at Waitrose.
The company says that the new flavour comes from natural ingredients and is ideal for those looking for a sweet snack.
The vegetarian-friendly rice and corn cakes are free from gluten, as well as artificial colours, flavours and preservatives.
“The cocoa, date and vanilla rice and corn cakes are an exciting addition to the Kallø product portfolio,” said Hayley Murgett, Kallø brand controller at Ecotone UK.
“It hits the spot for those who want the taste of something deliciously sweet, but without any hidden nasties.
“The rice cakes are ideal for an evening snack or as an alternative to a sugary biscuit. We expect the SKU to be popular with the growing number of flexitarians seeking plant-based options.”
Sold in a 133g pack of 13 jumbo-sized cakes, the new offering is available at Waitrose stores.
Last year, the Kallø brand portfolio was boosted with the addition of new protein-packed veggie cakes in two flavours.
