After a year’s hiatus, BrauBeviale – the major trade show for the alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks industry – is back in full force here in Nuremberg, Germany.
Organisers Nürnberg Messe say there are more than 50% more exhibitors this time round than in 2016, when the show was last here, and expect around 38,000 visitors were in attendance over the previous three days. Demand is so high that Nürnberg Messe has added an additional hall this year – hall eight – and with another hall under construction outside, there is room for more growth in future years.
One of the biggest trends here has been sustainability: Brau is a haven for brewers but also for packagers, keen on discussions with beer makers and soft drinks manufacturers about how they can improve their packaging offer. It is clear that the focus for packaging companies has changed: they are much more engaged with sustainability at this year’s show, and a major part of that is recycling.
