Finnish food company Fazer has launched a new range of oat-based products under its Yosa brand, and has made “substantial investments” to drive the development of oat-based goods.
The line, which will go on sale in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, consists of products such as: oat drinks, oat spreads, overnight oats, and Yosa Oat Fraiche.
Fazer said it is on a mission “to conquer the Nordics” with the new range that includes a variety of oat snacks and savoury products. The Yosa portfolio is fermented containing probiotics that are said to be “excellent for supporting health”.
Heli Anttila, vice president of supply chain and operations at Fazer Lifestyle Foods, said: “We see globally a growing interest towards oat-based products and are ready to drive it forward with the innovative, top-quality Fazer Yosa assortment.
“Although the market is getting more saturated, we believe that there is an increasing demand for the Fazer Yosa products, which are both superior in taste and innovation. Consumers value tasty products that support holistic well-being, and demand responsible production from companies.”
The range’s packaging has been designed by UK agency Pearlfisher and the signature ‘Y’ aims to illustrate the oat growing out of the ground.
Fazer said that the vast amount of light makes Nordic growing conditions for its oats “truly exceptional”.
